PlaidCloud Year End Updates Going Into 2025

As we near the end of the year, 2024 has been a great year for pushing forward both innovation and resilience of PlaidCloud to make it the go-to tool for financial operations and analysis.

Major Scalability Gains
This year we moved customers from a shared environment to completely isolated workspaces, enabling more control of resources and upgrade timing.  In addition, we have completed moving half of our customers to the new /wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Group-482091-1-1-3.pngLake Data Lake technology that offers a substantial increase in performance, reliability, scalability, and disaster recovery. We are migrating the remaining customers to /wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Group-482091-1-1-3.pngLake in Q1 of 2025.

Multi-region Capability
One of the exciting outcomes of moving to /wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Group-482091-1-1-3.pngLake and isolated workspaces is that customers with specific country/data center requirements can have full control of which data center hosts their PlaidCloud instance.  This enables straightforward compliance with data residency requirements as well and it shortens communication distance.  We will continue to expand this capability to allow usage of AWS and Azure data centers in the future.  Since PlaidCloud enables customers to have multiple workspaces, regional teams can now have regional workspaces dedicated to their efforts.

Major improvements in dimension performance
Dimensions and allocation assignment capabilities also saw significant improvements over the year.  Loading, updating, and exporting dimensions is now orders of magnitude faster and we still have a few surprises yet to come on that front.

We have added some new capabilities that customers asked for, including a new and improved RESTful API step, Jinja template-generated documents, and even EDI import capabilities.

Standard Dashboards for Profitability and Intercompany Invoicing Products
Both our Enterprise Profitability and Intercompany Invoicing products now have several major improvements including a standardized structure, better self-management capabilities, and simplification of processes.  With better standardization, the new versions now include a full set of initial dashboards.  For customers who have already implemented one of these products, there is no need to change.

PlaidCloud Excel Interactivity
The PlaidCloud Microsoft Office Plugin (a.k.a. /wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Group-482091-1-1-3.pngXL) has also seen major improvements over the year.  We continue to improve it so customers can have a seamless experience between PlaidCloud and Excel both on desktop and on the web.

New Form and Holoviz Panel applications
Recent new additions to the end-to-end portfolio of capabilities that PlaidCloud provides are our new Forms and Holoviz Panel applications.  The forms allow point-and-click creation of user forms with customized workflows to suit your needs.  Holoviz Panel is an open-source project that we have incorporated that allows creation of customized user interfaces with rich user experience including reactive charts and real-time interaction.

Finally, as we look toward our goals for 2025, we see several key areas including enhanced performance, expansion of tools, improved and simplified products, and continuing improvement of usability.

Thanks for another great year and we look forward to another one with you next year.
